Anyone been on the Glenwood Canyon stretch of I-70 recently? It was so danged ruff last time I drove through there.

It's the road that CDOT forgot.

I went through a couple weeks ago. My loads are unpredictable, but I go through that stretch at least six or eight times a year. They've got the new speed limit signs up, so now the four-wheelers are legal when they pass you going 60. And there are the usual summer construction stretches.

Honestly, compared to many other states, Colorado does an excellent job with their roads. There are a lot of things that have gone bad here in the last 30 years, but CDOT isn't one of them thankfully.

But what about the condition of I-70 along Glenwood Canyon?

It's in pretty good shape right now. The grooves are coming back over Vail Pass, but Glenwood Canyon is OK.

On the other hand, I don't even want to talk about I-25 between Castle Rock and Monument. I'm sure one day it'll be nice, but right now it's terrible.

Sorry, old post, but I couldn't disagree more. I thought the midwest was bad, Colorado has, without question, the worst roads, and I don't mean condition, it's their lack of insight, or too busy buying police cruisers, and the 2( or dreaded 3 lane) roads are unsafely out of date. I went over Independence Pass when it opened for the year, I couldn't believe how dangerous it is. Single lane in spots, with no warnings or guardrails, that may have been okay in 1954, but the traffic has increased substantially, with that hole Aspen, and RUDE, these axxholes passing on double yellow. I'm strongly thinking of moving back to the upper midwest, and let this state go down the crapper. Not happy in Colorado,,
