The bank says it is a commercial address and will not allow it.

Unless you already have 2 forms of ID I have found you can NOT just rent a PO box. This is clearly pointed out on the official PO form. When I first moved to Hampton I applied for a PO box, they denied my request.

When I got my CDL, I used the address of the CDL school for my license. Then I used the address of my employer until I could afford to buy a house.

Why not go OTR? Just because you have a local job doesn't mean you have to stay there. If I'm to pick one piece of advice based on my year+ of living in a van: DON'T. If you don't have to, don't.

Get your CDL. Go OTR or regional. There is NO sense living in a car when you could be living in a semi truck instead. Raking in $1000+ per week with no rent or utilities is a sweet place to be after drowning in the stress of living in a car, going to the Y for showers, and hoping not to get thrown out of public spaces all the time. If you want a down payment for a house, OTR or regional is the way to go.

You can always go back to local driving after you've knocked out your goals.

My state requires utility bills in your name, not a cellphone bill, to verify physical address. I have a P.O. Box mailing address but not printed on my CDL. PO Box is listed in my info with state.

exactly why I suggested offering to pay the internet or cable tv bill at a family or friends house I exchange for using the address and having them accept your mail and open scan and email
    You the important mail .

    I wouldn’t do that for a total
Stranger but I’d be happy to do it for family or friends if they paid my $120
A month cable and internet bill .

Assuming the address on your current license or ID card isn't accessible any longer I'd say the best solution is to use the address of a friend or family member with their permission. If that's not an option then I'd move to a nice area in a no income tax state and just find a room to rent on Craigslist for cheap. Being homeless isn't really an option for anybody who isn't trying to drop out of society and live off the grid. Also USPS will know if you are trying to switch your permanent address to a commercial address...I tried that once and it threw up a red flag and I can't remember what it said exactly but it was definitely warning me it would cause problems, so trying to use a company address is not a good idea either.
