At the time the 15 stood up better than 13/18 speed because the back box has better gear sizing and bearings (in the 125 torque ratings)

The 14613 came out about 1985 and the KT's were just about done in North America.
before that the RT12515 or the RT8LL was the strongest trans in the Fuller stable.

Not exactly torque monsters. Even electronic versions aren’t that torquey, a cat C18 with the longer stroke might produce 1000ft-lbs more torque than a similar rated K.

They were the best around in that period of time, outdated now.

Reworked injectors, higher pump pressure and volume and a high capacity air to air intercooler are all ways to bump the KT engines to up to 1100hp 2200 ft#torque (claimed dyno tested by one owner).

Just reassures my point, a C18 at the same power makes over 3500ft-lbs.

    Roger McG Thanks this.

2200ft# at 1100hp seems awful low for torque.

A dude I follow on another forum has this beautiful beast. Said he easily walked away from a 700ish HP tuned acert, I think,. Screenshot_20210615-204053_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20210615-204415_Chrome.jpg

Yes and the KT technology is now 40 or more years old.
You can expect some technology innovations in that time.
