Yeah, but the great thing about Florida is that they have a load of really nice rest areas. The one on the Apalachicola River is a paradise. I believe it is MM 166 or close to it.

According to statistics, Hwy 302 between Odessa TX, and US 285 is the deadliest stretch of highway in the State of Texas.

I don’t think it’s a fair rating when some highways are 1500 miles long versus a 100 mile highway through heavy congestion. It should be limited to stretches of 150 or so which would likely change numbers on longer highways.

My friend told me it's nicknamed the bed coz you go there to sleep due to congestion and accidents. Btw the lanes are very narrow. Looks like they compressored the lanes to add another.

I'm telling you, that beltway is arguably one of the most dangerous urban roads in America. If they were to lower the speed limit to 55, I think the results would be dramatic.

it is crazy, when the toll lanes are opened it isn’t fun but doable if you can avoid the accidents. However right now it is just a bad idea to be on there.
I had just returned from Miami area and one of my friends asked me how driving in Miami was… I told them it was cake compared to 635… lolol. I’d do Miami all week to avoid 1 hour on 635.

    2. I-45: Galveston, Texas, to Dallas (285 miles)

    • Deaths per mile: 0.913
    • Deadliest city: Houston
    • 2017 ranking: 2.
Have they finished with 3 lane project from Dallas to Houston, cause few years back it was nightmare simply because of endless construction zone with narrow as lanes. So no wonder why in deadliest highway.

Also where is i81? Every week there is some sort of crashes with shout down interstate.

    7. I-30: Aledo, Texas, to North Little Rock, Arkansas
Actually it's not THAT bad, compare to I 30 from Little Rock to Memphis, I have a feeling that there is more trucks then cars driving on that part of interstate.

And yeah weird how many roads with Florida name on it.
Old folks can't take high speed traffic I guess especially when you will mix them with tourist from all over the world who have 0 knowledge about driving in USA

If they removed the intercity accidents and only included non metro statistics, the results would probably be different.
