All day, every day. Any money you earn while not working is perfect.

So when you apply for "regional OTR" does that mean exclusively linehaul pulling doubles? Does it mean day cab and hotels, or does it mean potentially a ragged out sleeper?

I'm out of Richmond, VA so I bet that means I'd be mostly running the northeast. I've got less a problem with the northeast, NYC, Philly, than most complaints you'd hear from drivers, but if the pay is strictly per mile, I guess the northeast is lower pay due to traffic?

This is linehaul? What they call "regional OTR" on their job postings? Any pay per stop, or strictly by the mile? I would have guessed fewer stops in linehaul. But I really know nothing about LTL/linehaul. Interested, but ignorant.

What is the truck maintenance like in linehaul in general, and Estes specifically? I'm a hard worker ready to make lots of money but the number one thing that slows me down in my current job is poor truck maintenance. I don't leave a terminal in a truck that has safety problems needing fixed.

Yes, regardless of truck you sleep in a hotel. Pull doubles 75 percent of the time, dry box the other.

Probably northeast, not that you can't sway Central to move you out further west. Pay is per mile on linehaul.

Yes, linehaul on extraboard (not a bid run). Paid for drops/hooks, breakdown, chaining, often is bonuses for running extra days, holidays, phone reimbursement.

Depends on your trucks age, shop, etc. If it breaks down, grab another at whatever terminal your at. They don't want you to drive a truck with safety issues. If your a runner on extraboard that stays out, they will be getting you a new truck if you work em @ Central.

I'm actually still gearing up to move this week. Movers skills be there this weekend so I haven't even been feeling the pain UNTIL it's time to get back into my city. The big bridge is compromised right now so all the traffic is going over the old bridge. It BLOOOOOOOWS!

Has freight slow down? Seems like I'm sitting more and more often waiting for loads.

Pretty much all last week and this week's not better.

Here where I'm at all the ltls are backed up way too much freight to deliver and pick up and not to mention shortage of workers.

It depends on where you go. If you go east, it's always shenanigans.

I can never tell out West here with all the outside drivers we bring in. Been fairly steady here. Been out for 3 weeks straight. Problem is not the freight, it's getting a hotel. People are going crazy, all out, anything west of the Rockies booked solid, CLC blows. So the first thing I do on any load offer on my board is arrange a hotel, if one and done, which is usually the case here out West.
