I recently purchased a 2013 T660 and a 45’ aluminum flat deck in Nevada. I have insurance on both and apportioned license plates/cab card from Texas. Fmcsa hasn’t activated my MC # yet. Can I take it home unloaded?

Yes.
Just put an in transit sign in the window and your off. You don't need any of the other stuff if your not hauling a load. No load=no commercial carrier. Just a guy transporting a truck to someplace.slow.rider, RocketScott and Judge Thank this. -
Awesome, thank you. No ifta or permits needed? One more question. Can I run intrastate with just my DOT # in Texas while I wait for the MC # to activate.

God prefers Diesels Thanks this.

Now even once your MC is active, you still can't cross state lines until you have IRP and IFTA. And there's no "temp permits" if it's your first time. Maybe things are open now, but during Corona my IRP took like 54 days to process, and you can't start IFTA until IRP is done. IFTA took 41 days. So even after my MC was active, I was still stuck waiting three months for the other stuff. -
How did you get apportioned plates and cab card without an active MC?
shooter19802003 Thanks this.
