Truck drivers will continue to cry about speed limiters until way after they become law. But very few will make the effort to contact their Congressional representatives to make their voices heard. And so we will end up with speed limiters as law.
And there is more coming down too. The following was approved by the House Transportation Committee as part of the highway appropriations bill that the house will be voting on. And passing it. It will be up to the Senate to stop it. Time will tell, but I think it will be the same as everything else that get put on us. Drivers wait until it's over then whine and complain about it.

The bill includes measures to:
- Increase minimum insurance requirements on motor carriers from $750,000 to $2 million.
- Initiate a rulemaking for sleep apnea screenings.
- Require FMCSA to review its changes to the hours-of-service rules established in 2020 and to create specific limits on the use of personal conveyance.
- Require new heavy-duty commercial motor vehicles to be equipped with automatic emergency braking.
- Research and consider the feasibility of installing side underride guards.
- Return CSA scores to public view.
- Create new authority for congestion pricing.
