Good tire at a great price.

 

All the top tier and most of the mid tier brands are good. My theory is go with whatever you get the biggest discount on thru whichever discount program you're buying thru or whatever. Also rolling resistance can help sway a decision. Michelin has the best rolling resistance comparison.

I see a lot of people saying that firestone is just an older Bridgestone. I have no idea if that’s true or not but from my experience I just don’t get near the wear or quality from a FS as I do a BS. In fact they are only a step up from Goodyear’s which I never had any long term luck with.

 

Yeah, just upgrade to the next newest. Would be the 713 I guess? Those 710’s are amazing though.

 

Bridgestones for the win.

 

I dumped those about half worn, because of their behavior when light or empty in wet conditions.

 

I’ve always ran Luggers. Willing to give up some mpg for traction. Now I run a lot less snow. Currently running 6 old steers. Mpg should be better. I don’t see any difference in mpg. They claim Luggers cost 1/3 mpg. I’m not convinced. I’m usually at 65 mph or less. There’s some closed shoulder Luggers I’ve seen. Best of both worlds. Deep aggressive tread, and closed hwy shoulder. That’s what I prefer.

 

24.5 tall or short is a little hard finding at times. I just plan well ahead.

 

I have the same problem with Lopro 24.5. The major Truckstops Carry mostly 22.5s only a few of the others. Been that way for a while, since oil prices (tire prices) went up, a dozen yrs ago. A lot more Companies went to 22.5.
