It wasn't below freezing last night I was in South Carolina and I never set the trailer brakes either. Apparently it was 1 of the drums on the tractor that had rusted together because all the rain last night

Don't know how but that's what happened. Guess Tropical Depression Claudette's dumping 7" of rain in just a few hours sped up the process

You're alright! You'll do well with the friendly ribbing that goes on in this forum.

The Brake Gremlins were out playing in the rain. Then they hid in the bushes and laughed.

I’ll make one recommendation if you use the hammer to the drum option.
Especially with your truck being parked on a hill make sure you chock the wheels or at best you will find your self lying on your back watching your truck go bye bye or at worst you end up being the wheel chock.
    Neither scenario is quite pleasant.

Your body may not stop the truck, seen it happen before.

Mine do that sometimes after driving in snow or rain. I park in a heated shop.
If it won’t go forward readily, I find just putting it in reverse and moving backwards just a few inches is enough for the brakes to release. I can hear them popping free doing that.

Anytime I crawl under a truck it's in gear, wheels chocked & the keys are pulled. Cause this one time....was throwing iron on a hill and snowpacked. Truck started to slide from the snow melting under the tires. It's something I never want to experience again.
