I’d rather buy 4 new at a time for Drives. Putting them on the rear axle. Then after a year or so, another new set, moving rears forward. Right before winter ideally. As long as there’s no cupping or step wear. They’ll all wear out about the same time. No rotating. Same with my front wheel drive cars. I’d rather put 2 new steers on and leave the rears. They hardly wear. Why rotate them? Why go into winter with 4 half worn tires? Rather have 2 new steers and 2 old on the rear with like new tread. The big shops insist on putting 2 new tires on the rear of my cars. I argued with them, insisted, and they still put new ones on the rear. Citing expert opinions. I made them swap them to the front. They claim it’s safer, avoids a fishtail spin out. That’s rediculous. Always better to put new on front. Especially with front wheel drive, for traction, I think it has a lot to do with selling tires. 4 instead of 2. I used to do Truck and some auto tires, 30 yrs ago. New steel belted always on front, especially if the car had old bias tires on the rear. Tire technology hasn’t changed much. Despite all the hype. All you have to do is look up old tire advertisements. Always the latest greatest being marketed.

From what I was told, GoodYear bought out Cooper.
Our tire supplier sold us Coopers the last couple years. Told me a month ago that Goodyear bought them out.
I’ve now got Giti GT867 J rated 18 plies on the front of our Freightliner.
First time I’ve ever tried Giti. See how they last.
I thought they look good. Snowflake symbol on it too.God prefers Diesels and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Looks like I'm going to have to convert to 22.5's. I can't find 24.5 tires other then cheap Chinese tires. I called a few TA's about their m713 special, there literally 10 11r24.5 tires east of the Mississippi. What a pain in the butt
