Goodbye V6 Engines

Honestly ill give up my 6.7 ram when they ban it. Not impressed with these little 4 bangers to be honest. They work and get good mileage but i just dont like how they feel or drive. I really miss my old V8s though. Nothing beats the rumble of an old V8.

 

What is really happening is not good buy to V-6 engines, it is good buy to automobiles, sedans, coupes, whatever you want to call them, in favor of SUV's or light trucks.

Oh the horror, people making decisions based on practicality and if it worked for their friends who probably have similar needs and lifestyles.

Yes a modern 6 is more powerful than a modern 4, so what?

A modern 4 is as powerful as many 20 year old 6s and put in a much lighter chassis to boot.

This is the lineup of the 1959 Chevrolet automobiles. Last year before they started selling Corvair, Chevy II, Malibu, other "platforms" as they are called now.
Everything sold then is the same platform, with the exception of the Corvette, a blip in terms of sales. Yes you could buy a Chevrolet pickup truck, but it was a truck in the true sense of the word. The world now is completely the opposite.

 

It’s the crazy horsepower created now. Average 4 cyl. has as much HP as a small block 2 barrel V8 from the 60s. Add a 9 speed transmission. The 4 cyl is quicker. Old 318s had 190 hp. 383 2 barrel big block 270 hp. Original 426 hemi, 425 (485) hp. New hemi up to 800,1000? Its crazy.

 

Not to mention the 4cyl has to work so hard and run so hot that they do not live long. That and #######es want to run the dog crap out of them.
