Those 710’s your taking off don’t look half bad!

Somebody would be happy to run those. Especially with the shortage.

When it comes to tires, it is impossible not to mention two contenders Ironman and Michelin Tires. If you want good tires at a lower price, go with Iron Man. If you're willing to spend more and want the best possible driving experience, a premium brand like Michelin is for you.

My next set will be kumhos krd 01 or whatever their closed shoulder is, we have had very good luck with them on the local stuff and for the price if I’m not happy with them on my mix of off/on/regional I’ll try something different

Still nothing but Michelin on steers though

we should not expect these budget tires to be as good as premium tires in terms of quality. Comparing Ironman vs Michelin tires will heavily favor the latter as they are targeting high-end consumers. Ironman, on the other hand, focuses on producing cheaper tires with dependable quality. Their products have high customer satisfaction, which means that they are serving their target market well.

Gee you blokes are making me feel cheap, as I run either Mitchi or Bridgestone recaps.

It started with I was a little over covid and was not keen on supporting china. I didn't feel a $650 tyre from a reputable manufacturer which is probably made in china anyway, would last twice as long as a $325 tyre, or a chines branded one.

So as it turns out both Michelin and Bridgestone do recaps for $325 locally. So in my view jobs for the local community, and perhaps little less environment impact re-using the carcass, plus the price is nice.

I sent Michelin an email one Friday night and I had some technical guy call me Saturday. He advised the recaps are the same rubber as the new, and they were ok as drives or on trailers. He was confident I wouldn't peel them.

So my line I work is scull drag a tanker around 7 mile of narrow windy crappy roads before a 20 mile at 50mph or 60mph to the plant. I get 12 months or 65K miles out of them in all positions and have not had one delimitate in 3 years.

I run new Yoko RY357 on the front, 2 sets of them a year. They are positive feeling tyre on wet and less than ideal roads.

If I had tandems I would try the loves recap program. Seems pretty solid based on the gossip I have heard. They prorate if a cap comes off.
