So that means that 1 out of 10 times the customers say's i'm not interested they really are? Had one agent that would call a customer that had said not interested and they would yell at each other for a few minutes. After about a month he gave us all their freight.

Listening to guy on radio he said if someone want to get some freight from shipper. He suggested calling or taking them out to lunch and ask them for the load that they have the most trouble getting covered or delivered.

You take the loads that give the shipper the most problem. You solve a problem for them so they don't have worry about it anymore. Then ask them for some better loads they need covered. You sell yourself and service by showing them you help solve a problem for them.

guys been giving that advice for years.

precursor to that is finding a shipper that
    1 gives a #### about service
2 also has a problem load/destination they are willing to pay to get covered

Mostly shippers seem to be all about the price, which for the most part is what brokers can sell/
Hard to sell trucking without a truck, is the long n short of it.
But the average chuck with a truck can’t sell service either, even with a truck.

I am halfway to my vacation destination. For more good advice, call BR-549.

    I have been a broker.
1 of my kids have been a broker.

Now I'm back to driving a truck because to me its the FAR EASIER job and my kid is doing something completely different because her new job is far easier than being a broker. So my answer is keep banging that phone !!! If there are any shippers in your area go talk to them.

Give them real prices and let them know you are there to help them.
    That's my input.
