How do I start a conversation or send a PM to another forum member?

A couple of clarifications here:

1. There is no "broker box."

2. Creating a second account to avoid restrictions placed on the primary account is a good way to end up with both accounts banned.

If there's one thing that most members here agree on, it's that they don't want recruiters, brokers, and other sales-types having carte blanch access to the PM system to solicit their business with unwanted private contact.

However, because I can see how that restriction doesn't always work in the best interest of members getting advice they need or getting problems solved, I always try to work with broker/members that have a need to communicate privately with other members, as long as it doesn't involve soliciting business relationships.

Basically, if somebody needs to work something out privately with another member, I'll try to help, but creating a second account isn't the answer.
