Caveman repair, as long as it gets the job done without smashing too many knuckles we don't care. The engine stand we built to out of frame an N14 was about the sketchiest thing I've ever seen, have to see if I have any pictures left of that.

Those Rednecks on YouTube look like they know exactly what they’re doing. Measuring the torque wrench and calculating how many foot lbs. leverage per inch, at a certain setting is accurate.

The imported tools for tightening lugs, twisted. They were not impact, they were the kind you would but a long bar on .

It’s not the cost, you own a truck, it is an expensive venture as a business, you invest into tools and equipment in order to maintain it for safety and revenue.

Like I posted in another thread, you can be proactive and maintain the truck with a cost on the front end and make more money on the back end, or you can be reactive and pay for it on the front end but make less on the back end.

Tools are key to making money if you are doing your own repairs, I buy quality not junk. I put money into quality because it pays for itself in the long run.

I have a bunch of torque multipliers, I posted the link just to get you interested in them because they work.

However, you don’t have to spend $1000 on them, the last one I bought is from the 1950’s and paid $40, it is an Armstrong and it works well for the repairs we do here on the trucks. They are around and people today are clueless to what they are so they come up cheap.

the same goes for other tools, you don’t have to buy new, just quality. Just got a rollaway box with two upper boxes for $150, full of tools. I bought it for the boxes not the tools, the guy said he had it on fb and cl for almost two weeks and no one even contacted him and he didn’t care what the value of it was, he needed it gone. Before i loaded it up onto the trailer, I just looked into a couple draws and it was loaded full of tools - snap on, mac and craftsman.

All good points. I'm sorry I misunderstood you and made fun of the overpriced torque multiplier. And I also love finding deals on craigslist.

Anyway... This is the one I bought. Do you think it will work on the drive wheels? It seems kind of tight in there, they are deep and concave rims. Screenshot_20210629-015235_Amazon Shopping.jpg

That’ll work for breaking them loose. I wouldn’t trust it for tightening, despite the techniques I’ve seen on U Tube. Be careful, don’t turn it the wrong way. It’ll snap a lug like nothing.
