In addition, there might be “outliner examples” Of fast food wages that are higher than usual like 1650 an hour but they are far and few between. Most fast food workers are making between $7.50 and $9 an hour.

Also, if you keep your driving record clean you can go anywhere in the country at any time, click your heels three times and snap your fingers twice and have 100 job offers in a matter of minutes. Lol what other industry can you do that in? Complete with full benefits, signing bonuses like you’re a pro athlete, and everything else. Lol

It’s the ultimate job security and a clean CDL is like gold in your wallet. Literally.

Not many other professions can say that without having six years of college.

I cook almost all my meals, drink tons of water throughout the day. I brew my own cold coffee and be sure to walk when parked at a truck stop. I also never dehydrate myself , anybody who is dumb enough to do that probably should work at McDonald's. There's no reason why you can't safely piss in a bottle going down the road . Also make sure you get good quality sleep

You can't argue with candy packers , they ain't man enough to go out and be OTR . You could offer most those idiots 100 bucks an hour and they still wouldn't leave home . W2 is more important than one stub

How about tarping an oversized load in winter with 25 mph winds.

Now that takes a toll on the body and your sanity.

I agree. Truckers say give more money and that will cure "driver shortage." I like more money. All of that sounds good to most, til they miss that first Christmas lol. Don't get me wrong, there has to be balance, but to shame people for because they work any job doesn't sit well with me. I personally like OTR, moreso than local gigs. In my opinion, OTR is the epitome of trucking.

One of the most unhealthy things you can do is be in a job you dislike. Both physically and mentally.
Trucking isn’t for everyone just like sitting at a desk isn’t for everyone either.
If you are unhappy driving no matter if you are a company driver or a owner operator it’s best to look for another career.

You are not working all the time. At one time, Fireman did 24 on and 48 off. Most had another job. I have not heard of any one being hand cuffed to the truck. You have a choice, if it isn't for you, move on.

I do get a bit irked when I finish a load and don’t have my next planned out and end up sitting a day or so. To me I’m at the companies disposal and I’m ready at their beckoning call. I should be compensated. I don’t like to sit, at all, ever! Keep me running, or pay me to sit, that’s my modo. Lol

Put a bike on the truck, go for a ride, go for a walk .City jobs are fast paced, multiple stops , home every day.

For me there were a lot of things I could have done instead, but wouldnt have made what I needed moneywise to support a wife and 2 kids at home.
