So an update to anyone still following this. As of today i managed to get my truck back and somehow not go bankrupt in the process. Granted after a ton of emissions repairs then 6 weeks down after a major wreck my entire maintaince account is pretty much gone and if Bones wasnt spotting me fuel till i get a check or 2 under me id be in trouble. But Im still kicking even with all the punches to my nuts on this whole ordeal.

The frame was a bit bent but not enough to total it and they got it fixed up and ready to roll or so they say. I still need to dig into her and do a fine tooth combed inspection nose to tail. But i just drove 24 hours from ottawa KS to dunn NC after a 14 hour shift and am too tired to be bothered till morning XD id miss too many things as tired as i am.

But let me tell ya sleeping in my own truck with a load already assigned is a major moral boost and at this point half my engine, and 90% of my def system have been replaced. So lets see if we cant finally make some money!

Was that a healthy fart at 25 seconds in? LOL

Not much you could have done there. Frankly, good job not killing them.

Nahh i was just getting bronchitis at the time. Woke up the next day hacking up phlem. And yea its a #### miracle the worst injury was some major bruseing on the dad. Not going to lie i sat down and shook for a couple hours when i got to the hotel. I thought for sure i had killed a family.

Wow…yup I would’ve been shaking as well. That looked like a hard hit to their van. They’re lucky they aren’t dead. Maybe next time they won’t pull out in front of a semi.

Glad you’re back on the road!

That makes two of us. And according to the officer if i hadnt both empty then locked my brakes up and started to turn at the last second like i did i would have hit the passenger compartment square and likely killed the driver and posibly the 4 year old in the back seat. As it is i literally ripped the engine and most of the firewall out of the car.

Guy in the white car got out and told me and the officer i actully picked the honda up off the ground and spun it in the air half a turn and nearly flipped it. Semi trucks do bad things to small cars heh. Also vouched for me as did the guy across the road on the other side.

Never going to give crap to hondas again either. They should be badly injured slow and empty or not, that little thing asorbed the hit like a champ and did its job protecting them.

Ah well on the bright side i forgot how much i love my bullfrog, emissions issues aside. It glides across even rough roads like a snake on glass and shifts butter smooth. Seat is also actully the right size for someone 6'2" and the huge cavernious bed is the most comfy ive ever had. I missed this truck.

Wow that’s quite a video. Wasn’t anything you could have done there. Just a bad deal. Glad it wasn’t worse.

So another update. Seems the dealer who "fixed" my truck missed several major repairs and these were found when a coolant fitting broke 20210711_183442.jpg on me

.....whoever thought plastic coolant fittings directly on a block backed up with paper gasgets were a good idea needs to be shot before they reproduce. The found damage is mostly related to the radar and ABS but are safety items and could get me sued in another wreck if not working.....

so its going to be going back down for a few days and another 10k here as soon as they get parts. Insurance is paying out though is pretty pissed at the repareing dealer, this amount means my truck SHOULD have been totaled not repaired.

Oh well at this point its kinda funny in a laugh or cry way that if you count the purchase price, the wreck repairs, and the now 57k ive spent on fixing stuff to date i could have literally bought a NEW truck for less money...heh at least im running out of things to fix.
