Don't know if this topic or the company qualifies to be posted on this thread, but another of the reasons I'm hesitant about going OTR is I tried it with Diaz Foods out of Manassas, VA back in 2017 or so. The labor was too intensive for my damaged body to handle but that's not the primary reason for other drivers to shy away from Diaz Foods...I picked up bed bugs from their drivers' cab/sleeper that I'm still battling to this day, 4 years later. The bed bug infrestation got my wife and I kicked out of the apartment we were in back then, continued to kill the little blood sucking b*stards in our next apartment/condo and now, in the house we're renting, I just sprayed and vacuumed our sofa getting rid of at least a couple of hundred.
I contacted Diaz foods to see if they knew and could help me defray costs of an exterminator and basically got the runaround with dodging answers like "Oh, each driver's truck is his own resposibility" and my favourite, "We're sorry you have bed bugs, but we're not liable for the cleanliness of each driver's truck".
Maybe one of y'all could explain, why do bed bugs smell the same when you squish 'em as stink bugs do?

You expect these shady companies to reimburse you for something like that? Good luck.

Diaz Foods isn't a shady company, they're a large food supplier to Hispanic restaurants in the DC metro area.
Didn't really expect it, was just trying.

you quit/left in 2017, and now you are trying to recoup your extermination bills?

you really should have hit them the first time you found them, when you were still working for them, creating a paper trail.

but in the end, they can just say you got them from the tenant next door from you, or from the previous house renters. you really have no absolute proof of where you got them.

heck, you could have gotten them yourself, from your next door neighbor, and YOU could have taken them to the truck yourself.

unless you had each individual bed bug micro chipped, you're outta luck, trying to prove anything.

^^^ Yep, I'd get rid of everything in your apartment. Start over. Once they are in your bed or furniture, or carpet, you are done for.

My son brought them home from an Air BnB we rented at the beach a couple years back. He had his own room there and was the only one. We didn't figure this out until a couple weeks later when he showed us his bed. We tossed the whole bed out on the street. It was actually a $600 futon/flip couch bed thing he had wanted when he turned 16. We had to buy it again.

Just so no unlucky sap would pick it up and try to use it we hacked it to pieces in the driveway before we threw it out with the garbage.

You need to look up making your own DDT. Its illegal to manufacture to sell it, but its a chemical that can be relatively easily synthesized in a kitchen.

You don't have to be poor or dirty to get bed bugs, but they are definitely hitch hikers and horrible to get rid of

Another thing you can do if you have been to a hotel with bed bugs, is leave all your stuff in a vehicle on a hot summer day.

bed bugs die at a temperature of 113 after 90 minutes, a hot car in the summer can easily exceed 130 degrees
