You're going to pay the same into IFTA either way, put fuel on when you need it and don't worry about the IFTA.

Never said that toll roads have anything to do with ifta but not only we have to pay expensive tolls on PA turnpike but we have to pay high PA ifta taxes on top of that. States that have expensive toll highways should have lower ifta taxes in my opinion.

Fuel when you need it and at the best price you can, settle up at the end, there are outliers as some here have said, but it will come out in the end or up front, for a single truck or even up to 3ish, it just wont matter, the bill is very unlikely to be unaffordable. (If even 1500 is hard to eat, its likely that you shouldnt be trucking, youre 2 tire blowouts from bankruptcy)
As far as larger fleets go, when everyone fuels where they want, the averages of miles and fuel purchased start to smooth things down. -
