A very bad idea? (Using trailer landing gear to jack up drive wheels)

I'm just doing a couple of outsides, so I don't need to dangle an entire wheelset and stress the bags too much. I've been getting one wheelset on two 2x4s to get some weight off the other one and not stress the lug bolts, and getting the inner wheel of the other wheelset on a single 2x4. That puts the outer wheel off the ground and easily removed.

I kinda don't care who is watching - I'm not easily embarrassed by people that I don't know and will never see again - they're just not real to me. I was mostly just worried about getting in trouble with corporate, and also just wanted to get on the road and not be stuck waiting for help.

That’ll work. I enjoy watching them change an outer tire that way, with rim staying on Truck. 20 ton jack at Harbor Freight, will handle anything on a Truck. Pretty cheap. To paraphrase my smart ###. Step Father, “ New invention, Hydraulic Jack” Lol.

You'd have to chain the axle to the frame or You'd likely run out of landing gear before the tires got off the ground.

Just buy a dang hydraulic jack

I already did the two outside wheels just with 2x4s under the insides.

Next project is to switch the steers sometime before winter, definitely will be getting the jack for that job

Can I use the truck's air with an adapter? Is it high enough PSI for those things?

I'll give you this .... your not kidding about not being embarrassed easy
Because I would be to even post this idea in a thread... But stupidity has no limits
For what its worth .. I hope you atleast nail or screw the 2×4s together if your perching a drive tire on them..
1 last question .. is your life or body parts not worth the cost of a hy jack ???
