According to AZ Family News, a semi truck was heading east on I-10 when, for unknown reasons, it smashed into the back of a Nissan Altima carrying a mother and her five children. The force of the impact split the car in half and set it ablaze, but the rig kept going and struck an SUV with a mother and her four children inside.
Five people inside of the Altima were pronounced dead on scene. A sixth person inside of the car was pronounced dead some time later. The family in the SUV were all transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Their conditions have not been released.

“I don’t understand how in broad daylight, you can hit two cars, someone is going to have to explain this to me.” said Kwame Delbridge, brother of the woman killed in the wreck.

Perhaps the driver had a medical event. Not much stated in the article as to why maybe. Prayers for all.

Automatic emergency braking like my 2020 freightliner has may have been to stop the truck.

It's not the Bendix system I think it's a Mercedes Benz system and it work good on my truck no real problems in 220,000 miles. None of the bridge shadows or false automatic braking problems.

I certainly hope that driver wasn't impaired.....that's going create tons of problems. My thoughts are with the deceased family.

You just never know, I won't blame the truck driver like my impulse says to do. You might feel perfectly fine right now but one day in a split second.
