You have to get to a computer man? What about your phone? Oh you must have one of those flip phones still lol. You sound like proud seasoned Swift driver. Attached is what I got. If I’m wrong then so be it. I didn’t get to no computer to find it either. But either way I don’t care. I’m still making a lot of money. Doesn’t matter who owns what. Doesn’t change my wallet size. Hell Disney could own us for all I care.

Yea I know knight took over swift. I’m talking about swift shareholders. Big difference is what I was talking about. Doesn’t matter who the ceo is. The shareholders run the company.

I've not seen this. What part of the country did you see it, and was it a one time thing or a regular thing?

I've driven for Abilene a while now and worked in the office some too. One time I pulled a Swift trailer, but it was a live load and live unload and I picked up and dropped the trailer at Swift terminals on both ends of just the one load. I was told it was a temporary thing due to lack of Abilene trailers, and sure enough, it never happened again and we got a bunch of new Abilene trailers added to the fleet right after that.

We do haul some loads that say Knight on the BOL, but in Abilene trailers. I'm pretty sure Knight is acting as a brokerage, technically, on all of those. We're still operating as an independent company, just owned, not operated by Knight. Technically.

I know technically is kind of a tricky word when it comes to companies owning each other. But like even where we share usage of a drop yard or terminal space, I'm pretty sure that on paper, the deal is the same as sharing parking space with other companies that don't own us and we don't own them, for accounting purposes and operating procedures. Permissions that can be revoked

I saw it headed to Dallas one night about probably exit 213. I pulled off to pee and as I was getting back on 30, I see him moving over into the right lane. I'm like WTH lol.

It’s going to come down to Swift and Amazon taking over the trucking industry. Just wait and see. I see Amazon getting into the LTL industry as well. It’s just a matter of time. Everyone thought I was crazy when i said we were going to get bought out eventually two years ago and here we are. With Amazon’s two day shipping method or sometimes same day shipping options it makes sense for them to partner up with an LTL very soon in the future. It will probably be a small company like Central Transport. If not maybe Averitt if they wanted to spend the extra cash. I don’t see them pulling doubles but they would be the way to go. If the go doubles then Saia would be the only option for them. Everyone else is way too expensive for good ol JB.

Yeah, this whole thing is looking like one of those snowglobes being shaken. We have each other's equipment floating around along with us bumping each other's dock swapping out freight. They are talking about shutting down the YRC barn in our area and moving those drivers over. This whole thing is a mess since we have overlapping operations in some areas where on the other hand, their linehaul functions completely different from our linehaul.

We'll see how things go. The government in their infinite stupidity already dumped $750 million to bail out our failing operations. Wouldn't surprise me if we needed more money to keep us afloat five years from now.

I heard Estes owns many of y'all terminals and y'all rent them from them. Is that true?

Did you ever notice when you come to the Charlotte Terminal that there's a YRC/?Yellow yard across the street from the Estes Terminal? Estes owns that YRC/Yellow land and they rent it out to YRC/Yellow. I don't know what it was before YRC started renting it but I'm assuming they've been renting there for a long time. I was told Estes owns that (YRC/Yellow) land and also our Charlotte Terminal land debt free, but I'm just a driver and don't see the books so obviously I don't know if that's hearsay or not.
