The way I also see it and understand the current contract, full rate is just north of $26. My current health insurance alone is $173 a week for my family. On a 40 hour work week, that amounts to $4.325 an hour off the top of my current rate. The savings of that alone to ABF's top rate amounts to a $2 an hour raise for me currently.

I initially tried to pursue UPS parcel about a month ago. I was so excited. The posting I applied for made zero mention of temp/seasonal status, and the application didn't have the typical "Acknowledgement of Seasonal Status" form to digitally sign before submitting as it had in the past. Once I got to the phone screen from the recruiter, they were very clear that it was a seasonal position, no benefits and no representation even after paying the $800 something initiation fee. So, that avenue is out.Banker and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this. -
Pay is lower than non union but the benefits make up for it.
