    2013 prostar mx13 trk came in smoking thick black soot no throttle response 2 turbos top high pressure bottom lo pressure is there a way to isolate the bad unit or could it be air control valve

    Sounds like EGR valve could be stuck open.

    thanks for the info just saved us $4000.00 at least.. the cost of both turbos and the time it takes to pull them

    Pull the piping and inspecting the turbos is the only real way to check them and pull those pipes is a pain.
    If you have heavy black smoke, then the DPF has failed. If the engine is deleted, then I really can't help further, but at this point you need to run an air management test with Navistar Engine Diagnostics and go from there.

    If you had tail pipe smoke, you still have a failed DPF.

    when the wrench was checking the charge air cooler he left the rubber plug in the outlet pipe started it up got lodged in egr flap didnt notice it drove away hour later the problem happened replaced filter
