But the difference between other occupations and trucking...most other occupations don't hire people who live thousands of miles away, at least not without expecting them to move near to their location, ... trucking is sorta like transportation to the roach motel...they'll ship you in but never ship you out. Although Tony did give me a free lift to the airport to pu my rental car many moons ago.

I hope everyone is enjoying the ~2 hours of hazmat videos! Double that time if you're dumb like me and fail every quiz the first time.

We had in service computer base learning. If I knew the material very well I would deliberately miss a question or two. Management wrote an employee up and cited the fact that he was getting 100 percent of the questions correct on the test so he should know better.
If it was new material I usually did not have to deliberately
miss a question. It just came naturally.

    Morning drivers,

So hope all of you have had a chance to check out the new drivers lounge in Fargo. One of the biggest issues ive had with this is that there was no shower curtain in the actual shower area. I did talk to one of the techs about this and he was told by Magnum that if you wanted a curtain then you buy one....well I went ahead an purchased one since I like most people value privacy. Im still waiting on the dam to come in since I had to measure an special order but this will prevent 1/4 of the floor in the shower area being soaked with water. Not sure who designed this type of shower but probably one of the dumbest moves ive seen since its just a smooth transition. All I ask is once your done close it as shown in the pic so we dont have to deal with mold. This is the Clorox liner but still dont want to have to purchase another one.

Also within the next week or 2 I will be ordering a Toaster oven for us all to use if that is something I get a decent amount of feed back on. You will be asked to clean it after you use it since we are all adults here and obviously messes do happen. There is only a microwave here as far as cooking so thought this might be an option for us. Please comment back if you would like this option as I have found a decent size one for us to cook with as far as pizzas, rolls, etc....also has a convection option for using as an oven so we will have that option as well. If you haven't seen the new drivers lounge seriously check it out. Its pretty nice everyone. Only big draw back is they still dont have a washer and dryer set up yet. Not sure if its covid related or if they just haven't ordered em but this is where it lacks at the moment.

    Thanks drivers and drive safe.

Wow that's very cool of you. I have no idea why they wouldn't reimburse you, shameful. Glad you guys are getting it sorted out.

Probably be a waste...in my 18 months there I think I saw the Fargo yard maybe 8 or 9 times, and only stayed long enough to get what I needed and get the flying fornication out of there. There is plenty of other places around Fargo to stay other than a company terminal

Oh I agree, but so many wanted a terminal there, you'd at least think the company would pay for the basics...

Honestly when I did a brief 2 months at prime I will say this when you have a full basketball gym, pools tables, a pool, private rooms and bathrooms, tv lounge, their own post office with PO Boxes, full caffe with full service kitchen to order #### near anything an a ton more….honestly I feel back in the Stone Age. Granted their terminals were about the only good thing about that company but hopefully if magnum grows they would consider taking it up a notch or 2 but will probably be a long time if that ever were to happen

Good 1st year, second chance company. Do what they say, say what they do. Anything more is just selling yourself short of higher pay or giving significance to animals/passenger/direct access to home in the sticks under a company job. And with the demand for drivers at better paying companies, current, you could probably get in with those companies, without experience, if you play your cards right.

I'm local now and never worked for Magnum but I follow the thread. The big thing about them that I like is their flexible hometime policy, which is probably the best in the business for a company driver with no slip seating. In this thread it was mentioned they're starting people out at $0.49 CPM not including the bonuses, and I think one of you guys in this thread mentioned they recently got new trucks too all with APU's, inverters, fridges.

If I ever go back OTR I'de consider them even though I have 2+ years of experience, which now includes LTL as well. Money isn't everything, they seem like a good company from an outsider like me.
