So how did everyones week go? Any plans for the 4th? Finally got my semi back today. Though that was a long ### trip. Ottawa, KS to Dunn NC in one shot with a tiny ### rental car. Truck looks good though ive not had a chance to give it a full nose to ### inspection.

Glad to see you got the ol' ride back @Arctic_fox hopefully you'll get a ton of productive miles out of it from here on out. As for me, I spent another week on the "local" run, I'm a big fan of it, it's about a 12 hour day any way you slice it, but the pay is good and the loads are familiar. Unfortunately, looks like it might be coming to an end, or an interruption at least, we'll see what the next week holds, looks like we also have a tropical storm to look forward to rolling in Tuesday, the joys of living in Florida!

How’s everyone’s week? We’ve been stupid busy and bumping our 14 every day. Still humping ballast for the railroad. @Trashtrucker1707 hows the weather down there?

Been an off week down this way, had Monday off for the holiday, really didn’t do squat yesterday, a load of lime up to jax and then pre loaded fertilizer to go way south this morning. Our news led us to believe that storm was going to come in hot and heavy overnight, I woke up at 4 and checked the radar, which looked bad, fell back asleep and waited it out until 7. Low and behold it was nothing, literally 5-10 mph winds in my area, so I drug myself to the truck and made a day of it. My gravy run dried up quicker than a rain puddle in the Sahara, I’m praying, and doing some serious finger crossing that it comes back because it was a sweet deal. Anyway, here’s a pic of how the poor truck looks during rainy season making farm deliveries.

They also did SOMETHING to the engine because it actully has power now. Still weak compared to a 550 kitty but i can actully pull the hill in VA on 64 at 40MPH now instead of doing 5mph and mostly maintain speed. Much happy on my part let me tell ya. -
I’ll try to make this as short as possible, I’m going to put this one in the “you can’t make this crap up” category. Came up to a regular customer of ours this morning, no need for names, with a load of landscape shell. I’ve delivered here numerous times, never been a fan, can’t back in the bins, dump a little and then they push it up, and all their bins sit under oak trees. We’ve been getting hammered with weather lately so I swear these trees have grown, and they’re hanging low because of the moisture.
Every time I’ve been here, I mention trimming the trees, and I’ve always dumped the same way, dump a little push a little, I probably brought up 10 or more loads to this location. I pull in, trees are super low, proceeded to get ready to dump, found someone to run the tractor for the afore mentioned process, dump a little push a little . I was told “you need to get that in the bin”, I replied that’s where you’re getting it, I was then told “well just dump the whole load there” to which I said put that in writing and I’ll be glad to do so. Their tone changed and we proceeded to address the tree issue.
This is where I was “over” it, I asked “is there a supervisor to discuss this tree issue with?” To which he said “I am the supervisor”. I then said when do you plan on righting this situation, this is my trailer and I’m not going to tear it up, I was told “you’re the first driver to complain about it”, I absolutely can’t stand when grown adults go down that road because they’re too dang proud to admit there’s something wrong with the situation, after that was said I responded with “well I’ll be the first driver to bring this issue to the attention of my company then”. We parted ways, I dumped, took a photo of the ridiculousness, and I’ll be glad to share that with y’all. What’s your thoughts? Sorry for the long post, beyond aggravated with the situation. -
Yea @Trashtrucker1707 you are definitely in the right, and I think you handled it well. I can’t stand either the whole “well everyone else does it” attitude. They have product that requires a trailer to go 40 feet in the air to get it and they have their trees preventing that. That’s definitely on them.

Some days I miss the old me, I had a ton of great comebacks for that smart remark of "you're the first one to complain", but the soon to be 38 year old that I am calmly walked away from the situation, made the comments to myself, and carried on with my day, all in the realization that humanity is definitely failing us the further in to this adventure, known as life, that we get.
