Did you get a properly approved time off request from the boss?

Came back from our mini vacation time Monday night. While I was gone I had a three axle alignment done, and replaced the recaps that were on the truck with 8 new virgin rubber Hankook DL11s. I ran two sets of these on my Freightliner, and was happy with the wear and life I got out of them.

I booked a short load Tuesday about 12 miles from the house going to Greenville, N.C., and then picked up a preloaded trailer of windows out of Kinston, N.C. with two stops in Knoxville. At my second stop, they informed me that over half of the trailer, 265 pieces weren’t supposed to come there. They we’re intended for a job site in Goldsboro, N.C. , so after about 2.5 hours of a urinating contest between the powers that be, it was determined that I would just take the 265 pieces back to the shipper in Kinston. 900 miles round trip, will pay the truck just over $3000. I had already had a load booked out of Chattanooga going to Indiana, but when I saw what was unfolding this morning, I called the other agent and explained what was most likely going to happen. He was appreciative that I gave him as much notice as possible so he could try and rebook the load.

It wasn’t how I saw my day unfolding, but as Forrest Gump would say “It happens.”

My own update, Landstar rejected me. So, I'll be running elsewhere.
