Good thing he was pulling a dump trailer and not a straight dump truck.
Had one here in Florida that the dump bed went up on I 10 and it slammed the cab into the bottom of the bridge span and killed the driver instantly. -
I remember the one in TX on 35 that was hit twice in a matter of weeks. 1 fatality. It was crazy there a few years ago until they finished the construction
No Exit Thanks this. -
I heard on the radio that they had l- 16 reopened FRI. night.
No Exit Thanks this. -
Out here in Midland/Odessa, bridges get hit many times a year by over height oilfield equipment, Cotton Flat Road, Garfield St., Midkiff Rd, on I-20. In Odessa, Crane Ave., was banged a couple years ago, less than a week after re-opening from an earlier strike that closed for over 3 months.
It has gotten better recently, TxDot has posted ‘oversized’ routes along I-20. Basically exit, and use frontage, then get back on. But still some boneheads ignore. No Exit and Final Drive Thank this. -
No Exit, JolliRoger and kylefitzy Thank this.
