Northern Tool shows them new for $5900. Don't know what normal installation is. Also doesn't show what brand diesel they are using for their unit. Lots are Kubuto s.

Please Don't do it. I got a brand new diamond power apu about six month ago, It has 500 hours now and so far it is anything but problems. This thing is Chinese, engine is a copy of the Kubota. The first day running the alternator seized, then the generator belt went, a capacitor melt down, glow plugs went , starter burn up too, every time that I need the thing something comes up, they are hard to start in cold weather or hot, engine leaks antifreeze and oil from every place that has a gasket o bolt, even the drain plug leaks from the very first day. You got the idea.
It is not working for me at all, My buddy bought an used thermoking in Ebay for 1.500, 300 hours in it and runs great, no leaks, engine is quiet . The good thing is that if you try to buy a used one you just hook any battery a the unit and you can read the hours of service en digital pad, the apu's are self contained so you can even start the thing with a little water for a few seconds just to listen to the engine. I don't want to be an idiot about it but those are the facts. Remember any time that it is something wrong to this thing, you probably won't have a mechanic willing to look at it, you are going to have to find a dealer or something.
As a concept this things is great, 110 volts,a/c, heater, truck engine warm up to 130 F,battery monitor and charge, etc. Anything but a Diamond Power.
    Good luck, hope it helps

Ps: Engine it is not kubota. It a very good copy and many parts will fit.(Glow plugs) but if you go to a Kubota place they need engine serial # in order to find the parts, what I do is I give them a real Kubota serial# from another Apu and it works.

If you're in the market for an APU I hear that many Thermo King dealers have repos to sell.
