Guy I used to park with had a 2002 Pete daycab with a 6NZ 600hp, 18sp, 4.10 rears pulling a dump wagon locally in the NY metro area. Had a 120,000 lb divisible load permit. He had it "tweaked" by King of the Hill up in Albany NY. I followed him eastbound off the Bear Mountain Bridge on US6/202. Short windy pull uphill with a sharp lefthander at the top by the lookout. No taking a run at it as it was a tight right to go up the hill. He used to walk right up that hill and had to lift at the top with 44 ton in the box! No black smoke, just pure grunt! It was rumored to be putting 800hp to the ground!

If you walk into the restaurant, be sure not to make eye contact with anyone. Especially with those guys sitting at the lunch counter.

So has anyone thats commented so far ever heard of EGTs??? Its more than a number.

Dont care how fast or slow you climb a hill... If you keep it matted to the floor boards the EGTs go through the roof very quickly... And youre setting yourself up for a "Tick, Tick, Boom!" scenario.

    Just sayin...

Correct gear for hill climbing, with a manual, is you shouldn't have the hammer mashed.

You should be able to accelerate slightly from 1500 rpm.
