Hi All,
I am buying a new truck and haven’t decided between DD15 or Cummins. My last truck was a 2012 Volvo but its hard to find mechanics to work on them here in Socal. Wondering, what years of the DD15 or ISX should I look for. Im trying to be under 65k.

If your gonna go that route I've heard 2017-18 and up are a lot better than earlier systems. IMO I'd go new. You know your fixed cost that way. Never know what your getting into with a used EPA turd
AlexD13 Thanks this. -
Having owned one, I wouldn't walk, but run away from the Red Devil!

I am looking at a 2019 Cascadia with dt-12 with 2.41 or 2.28. Does anyone know if these are direct drive and the final gear ratio please?

Change your fluid every 300,000mi. Pre 2016 is a 75W90 with additives. After 2016 is a 75W85 with additives or the earlier. Make sure it's Daimler approved such as theirs or:
Mobil Delvac 1 Transmission Fluid MBT 75W-90
Shell Transmission MA 75W-90
Chevron Delo Syn-AMT XDT 75W-90
I was told that if you sit in D without a firm brake application the clutch will be spinning and will cause overheating and premature wear. Firm brake is supposed to disengage the clutch.
I've only had mine from 490k and am now at 570k miles and I like it very much. My first automatic. Get on YouTube and familiarize yourself with the Daimler tutorials. You still have to work it, but with the Jake Brake and the cruise control to always have proper vehicle control.
I have Manual, Econo and Performance modes enabled.
