Ah, the stupid stuff we've done.
Probably the longest was the easiest: Matteson, IL to Aurora, CO, right at 1000 miles in 18 hours.
Another memorable was Youngstown to Shakopee, about 850, after having spent all day running around Detroit and Cleveland picking up cars, so probably 1000+ total. Left around 4pm cdt, was unloaded before 8am. Managed a short snooze in there somewhere.
The hardest ones were the 800-900 mile overnights we did in the 80's in 63 mph cutback 300 Cummins cabovers. Get loaded in the early afternoon and be sitting at receiving the next morning.
It doesn't sound like much now, but I averaged 3500 miles/week, when speed limits were 55 mph everywhere and the way the rpm was cut back to limit speed meant you probably only had 270hp. 2 years was enough of that!Flat Earth Trucker and CorsairFanboy Thank this. -

Got the call my Mom was passing, Meridian Mississippi to Bangor Me,... A quick 4 hr nap, then home to Hailfax Nova Scotia. Didnt track miles/hours but made it before she passed.
Flat Earth Trucker, Hammer166 and Magoo1968 Thank this. -
