Straps over tarps and edge protection?

What a super cool dude. From OH-HI-OH.

I was wrong. His straps are under the tarps. He has this super custom strap that goes over the nose.

 

He said for the load he has right now, and it's an awesome tarp job I must say, was a bit over 2 hours to tarp.

He has 14 years experience.

Anything over a tarp has potential to damage tarp. Edge protection especially. Can flap slightly on corners and cut into tarp.

Only a few places where one has no choice if you want to load there.

 

There are exceptions that can’t be avoided if one wants to load at the place. Usually wallboard. They load you, then tarp you. Driver can’t get out. No choice on those loads

Oh I love threads like this. I spent ten years at this company and I know of one guy who was dumb enough to roll into the yard with his straps over his tarps. He was pulling a set of doubles and he got the enjoyment of tarping both trailers again.

It’s pretty simple. The tighter you get your tarps front to back to start out with then the tighter you can get the sides. The height off the deck isn’t an excuse whether you can get the tarps tight or not.

 

Yeah but box ends are like cheating!

 

Ah man now I have to find a pic hauling 60” wide MDF. Lol
