Recent grad(7/7/21) of a trucking school in Georgia(Gwinnett County) I passed my pretrip no problem passed my maneuvers with no get outs or pull ups and used only 19 points on the road in a 10 Speed. I understand there are a few things that will add up points but I didn't hit any crucial points to give me an automatic fail. I didn't stall or hit any curbs...I stopped before the stop sign lines, stop light lines and cross walks to make sure they where visible by the instructor...kept my hands on the wheel(10 and 2) at all times only to shift gears...I doubled clutched even tho I know how to float...i kept it below 5mph on all the speed signs...checked my mirrors often...basically I did everything I knew to my knowledge to pass but for the life of me I can't understand why DDS put a restriction E on my License.(restriction E means I can't drive a manual transmission in case some were wondering) If I had did any of the above like stall or hit a curb or coast it would have been an automatic fail and I'd have to take the test over again right?...Or am I wrong?...My instructor said I passed. Gave me my paper work to take to the DMV and even on my paper work where it says AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION it clearly has an X on the NO box so why would DDS put a restriction on my license. Unless I'm missing something. If I fail in a manual that doesn't mean I can get my License for an automatic. That means I fail and have to do the test again in either a manual or automatic but just the parts I failed not the entire test. I brought this attention to DDS but they keep insisting on telling me it's right which it's not. Personally I didn't give up my job and spend 4G's to be a restricted driver. I worked my butt off and paid very close attention to my all instructors. Any advice or has some rule changed that I have no clue about???
I'm confused

Sounds like you need to re-test, in an Automatic. Take the Truck Driving School Manager/Lead Trainer with you to the Testing office? If they won't GO, ask for you School Tuition back. Don't lose the paperwork/receipt from dds/dmv. Ask to meet with the Supervisor there, not just the counter person. That is a college grad dip more than likely. Otherwise, well, file a lawsuit? That would be awful too. Hummm?
V4V007 Thanks this. -
I don’t know what DDS is in Ga. Maybe the x in the No box was interpreted as no manual, instead of no restrictions. You need to start with the School, go through the process again. Get it straight. I see no reason to take another road test. Someone made a mistake. I just renewed my CDL. Forget exactly what the problem was. Something stupid. Told the Lady to double check, didn’t seem right. She came back finished her job. No words spoken. People are incompetent these days at their Jobs. It’s never been worse. Now with the Interweb, it can be even harder to get things straightened out. The Government seems to love it. Just collect their fees, with no interaction. Have to speak up. Don’t let them intimidate you. You did everything and paid for it. Demand some F##### Respect, you deserve it. Lol. Being a Truckdriver you have to demand it, or you won’t get any. Lol Good Luck. Get it straightened out.

You tested in a manual transmissions, which means you can drive a manual or an automatic.
You should not be restricted to driving automatic only.
The school is going to have to help out on this to get the mistake corrected. Might even have to go to a different DMV office because as @ibcalm19 posted, some people won't admit a mistake. -
Wouldn’t a x in the no box for automatic transmission mean you didn’t test on one??maybe you need to ask the dmv.

Marked that the truck you drove did not have an automatic transmission. Get your license corrected.
