I’ll post today’s adventures in a bit.Trucker61016 Thanks this. -
Today I rode around with another driver learning the system and paperwork. Plus I used an electric pallet Jack. The first time I did that years ago, I was a human pin ball with it. Lol.
Tomorrow I ride with the same driver and learn some more.Trucker61016 and bzinger Thank this. -
Day three and my first week in the books….
Rode with another driver today, learned how to use the lift gate. I did all paperwork today, including the delivery stuff. Got better when using the power Jack.
Monday will be my last training day then I’ll be cut loose on Tuesday.
All in all I’ve learned quite a bit this week and I’m very happy I made the move.
The picture I just attached is from when we were in an alleyway in downtown Fargo.
Here’s to next week!!!Attached Files:

Yeah me too, hopefully they’ll hold up well. Some of these places we need electric jacks. Lol.BeHereNow97 and Trucker61016 Thank this. -
Well my final day of training turned out to be an interesting one…. It was hot. Humid. Then dusty. Then stormy. Then rainy and windy.
I’m gonna be on my own starting tomorrow, and i won’t lie. I’m nervous about it. I’m gonna do preloaded wagons the next few days.
Today I got to test my backing ability, and passed with flying colors lol. I really appreciate the 2 guys that taught me the system and I really am ready to be doing this on my own. Just nervous is all.bzinger, Speed_Drums, Texas_hwy_287 and 3 others Thank this. -
At Estes I started out at $26.15 and hour. We top out at $30 per hour and it takes 3 years to get to top out pay. However we also get a cost of living raise each year so 3 years from now the top pay will be more than $30 per hour. We get overtime after 52 hours.
I was talking to an Old Dominion driver tonight. They get overtime after 60 hours. That is garbage and I hope Magnum is better about OT than what Old Dominion is or even than what Estes is. Southeast Freight is paying overtime after 45 hours now so hopefully Estes and Old Dominion and the rest of the LTL's follow suit and start paying it after 45 or even after 40 like the rest of the working world.alds Thanks this.
