Hauling Produce out of Nogales

Nogales, no thanks!!!!

 

We hauled many a load of tomatoes out of Nogales to Minneapolis , call wholesale produce up there they always had a load.
Its mostly all crossdock freight off the mexican truck onto your wagon.

 

How much pot and fentanyl is cross docked? Thats the question.

 

I went there once, 17 hours later I was loaded..

 

If you are not familiar with the produce business, find someone you trust who can guide you and answer questions.. Lucrative business at times, but many pitfalls and crooks. find you a 'BLUE BOOK " for starters, it shows current business contacts and their credit ratings.

 

Big tip that will save u when hauling produce:

1: never ever sign the bill with ur name, always put SLC ( shipper load count) and write down somewhere on the bill ( driver not allowed on dock) try to make it look like a 3 yr old wrote it so they don't say something,

2. Remember you will inspect some boxes urself and pulp the produce, buy a temp gun and point it right on the product within a few inches away.

3. Make sure u buy a digital thermometer from lowes or home depot and put it right next to the temptale they put in at the last pallet, 99% of the time the shipper won't seal u from Nogales they'll give u the seal and if they try to seal u tell them u have another pallet to pick up and you'll seal it their.

4. Once you're loaded and headed out ur gonna get in the trailer and double check ur thermometer that it's reading the correct temp, sometimes ur gonna have to put it inside a case of a pallet or put it on the ground. Ur gonna check the temp of the thermometer at least 7+ times a day make sure the thermometer and temptale are next to each other

5. Don't forget to seal up ur trailer when ur close to the receiver. Don't lose ur seal, put it somewhere safe like under ur bed.

6. Always make sure the shipper never puts in too many pallets to the point where they put it all the way by the doors

Try not to haul:
Grapes
Strawberries ( or any kind of berries)
Arugula
Spinach
Broccoli

BTW make sure u tell the broker that the shipper wouldn't allow u on the dock to inspect it and u basically put the liability on the broker if he says " go ahead don't worry "
