Long Beach considers options for Queen Mary, including sinking the ship

It may just be me, but I certainly wouldn't be sinking or dismantling a haunted ship. My life is rough as it is, I don't need angry spirits haunting me for the rest of my days; and all because I sank or dismantled the ship.

Sink the Queen Mary, and her ghost will wander the open oceans.

 

$190 million to sink it? Hire a few rednecks and they'll take care of it for a few flats of beer lol.

 

If the ship is not put into dry dock the cost to keep afloat will never end. My city just got ice breaker Alexander Henry opened as a museum, most things that float are money pits or stink.

 

I took a tour several years ago, it’s pretty wonderful. I’d hate to see it sunk.

One of the sadder things I’ve seen was the SS United States, at one time the fastest ocean liner afloat, sitting stripped and moldering at a pier in Philadelphia.

 

As a kid I was lucky enough to sail on the SS United States. 4.5 days from New York to France.

 

I spent too much time on Ranger. It's since been scrapped.

 

One night I was bored and chasing rabbit holes on the Internet and found out you can buy retired cruise ships. Was an interesting thought that I could live in international waters.
