I tried the silicone seals, or poly. They last less and leak more than rubber. I just spit on mine. But its my truck and trailer. So there is that. Doesn't gross me out.

I have actually used generic KY...and yes, I kept it out of sight, especially since my grandkids help me clean my truck from time to time.

Yup just a little high temp grease does the trick for me & to be honest its cheap material being used not considering the environments they will be used in.

Ive always just spit on them... But even that doesnt prevent sticking if connected for multiple days or in extremely hot temps.

Try silicone based grease. It wont swell or breakdown the rubber . anything petroleum based is what u want to stay away from

I have been dealing with this lately as well, I just pull them apart and stuff them back in. Always a good time to give them a once over to see if they need to be replaced. I only spit on them if they don't want to seal.

Solution is very easy. If your fleet uses black rubber on trailer then install on your truck red and blue silicone made ones. Or otherwise...tested. two different rubbers don't stick together.
