The inlet ussually will have the foil but not always. Outlet never has foil. The plastic on the NOX module where the connector plugs should match harness plug. Grey is inlet. Black is outlet.
Again they can be forced together, you can see the different spacing in the keys. However if you have them reversed, you would think you would also have outlet Nox faults.
Something to check....
It sounds like you found an issue with your power supply. Does it still fail load/ wiggle test?

Looks like the shop notes indicate they found a harness with a broken wire. Not sure why they replaced the connector? Maybe the break was close to the connector body?
-
They wanted me to leave truck overnight (after being there all day) and wait for connector part to get to shop. Would prob add another 2-3hrs labor or more just for that so decided to dip.
Bought connector and going back to local mechanic who'll prob replace the connector free.
But if that doesn’t fix the issue then I guess Ill have him look at the harness, or the sensors/wires around the def tank.
Will prob even put fresh DEF, force regen and see if that fixes it. Anything to stay away from the dealer -
Yep, it was the busted up plug/connector that the intake NOx sensor goes to. Have no idea how it got busted, but something caused it to break/fry. either way solved the issue. It instantly removed the Increased derate and Power reduced due to SCR on the dash. SCR fault detected or altered stayed, but after plugging in and clearing code it was gone. Force regen for about an hour or more and was on my way.
QUALITYTRUCK and Goodysnap Thank this. -
2018 579, SCR Derate issue. Again it dealt with the Def wire harness. Also paccar engines do not like any dead idle. Please idle at 1000 rpms plus. This will not keep you out the shop but instead slow down the number of times you are in a shop (once or twice a year)
