There’s part time work sometimes for Mail Runs. If you’re near a Mail DC. See who’s doing most of the Trucking. Pays usually pretty good. Hours usually pretty Lousy. Maybe pick up a weekend Job. Other temp Driver Leasing Companies. Like Transforce are always looking. Then there’s always Purple Heart and The Salvation Army.

Great responses, thanks for the help and keep them coming. Tomorrow I'm going to follow a few of these leads.

Just to clarify, I am not an o/o I just thought that o/o's might be able to provide good input since they tend to be well rounded and experienced. Also thought possibly somebody might want to give them self a vacation from their own truck once or twice a week. You never know.

May I ask where you are finding these leads? Thanks a million btw. Was there a link for the Medical Center Pharmacy job? Will search for it tomorrow if I don't hear back. Thanks!

    no.

An owner operator has to follow the same regulations and laws, which means you can’t just borrow a truck, you have to have a cdl, the what we call a employee jacket (a folder with all the required paper work in it by law) and approved by the insurance company to allow you to drive.

the absolutely best recommendation is to seek out a temp service. This is where you can pick up work as you need when you need, even though I own my fleet, I worked at a temp place because I really enjoyed the variety of work, plus I could walk away from the work and did a few times when there were issues with the customer.

With temp work are you able to check daily if there’s a job you want to take as an o/o? Can you elaborate a bit about the pay structure?

Did you work at the temp agency as an o/o?

Is temp work paid in CPM typically? If not in CPM, is the hourly rate in the $30’s at the minimum in your experience?

It’s been a while since you posted this but did you ever find the job you were looking for? I’d be interested in hearing if your were successful in obtaining work once or twice a week.
