If they did a crappy tune job that's part of the reason it's running hot. If the egr was deleted that's a lot more fresh air being introduced and will make the cyl temps/pressure increase. Good way to burn a piston

Well mine was doing the same thing it is now only a little worse before it was defeated. I have pyro and boost gauges and monitor them closely when loaded and post turbo in the downpipe readings seldom exceed 850. I have alarm set at 925 and the only way to set it off is by winding in out full throttle at 1900 plus rpm and hold it there on a hot day. As long as you dont lug it below 1500 boost never exceeds 36 and that is brief. Mostly 34 and fades down as rpm goes up.

I am going to change my oil temp sending unit since it is fairly cheap. I have tried to check it with infrared gun at pan and oil cooler,/ filter head several time and it is generally 10-20* cooler than the gauge shows but I would expect it to be less than gauge with outside air cooling it some. Just don't know how much. In the past when I have checked coolant temps at stat and upper hose they were pretty close to gauge readings. But, I am not really expecting changing sensor to make any difference. When warming up from ambient my oil temp tracks right on with coolant temp. Not so much after everything gets heat soaked. Water temp at 190 oil temp at 245 not unusual at all for this truck.
