Philip Morris International CEO said cigarettes should be banned

Some states legalized pot, others didn't. Seeing as it's legal in some states, it's now more readily available in ALL states than ever befire.

In time, conclusions will be drawn about what is better:

States with Pot shops on every corner and people smoking dope everywhere. Hotels in these states smell like they are growing extremely dank dope in the hallways. The smell of dope is everywhere, even sitting in traffic one smells it.

States that decriminalize possession and have medical use pot. The hotels here still smell fresh unless they are low class operations. There remains a much more discreet air about pot. The feeling is that this is something adults engage in but no one is precisely sure who, how or when.

States that do not condone pot, and enforce criminal penalities for possession. There is little if any broad based evidence of pot use. Adults are aware that some use pot but it is kept behind closed doors and outside of using communities a hush hush affair. Due to the legalization in other states however, one has to know someone to have access or travel to a state with liberal laws on pot to get any.

That's kind of my take on it.

There is a spectrum. Over time the wisdom and repurcussions of these various ways of approaching the issue, and the pros and cons of each will become more apparent.

I don't think recreational pot has been made legal anywhere in Dixie yet.

My suspicion is that Pot might be best left to hobbyists and groups of adult enthusiasts, like it has always been. Wall Street and big business will likely have a major derogatory effect on the people and in particular their children, with people holding part of their retirement portfolio in pot stocks, pot billboards everywhere, the smell of dope everywhere one goes, etc. In those areas, one might say "This area has really gone to Pot" and that would be accurate on both counts.

 

Everybody smokes dope up here. Folks like me who don't are a minority.

Ok, well that's too bad. You know I could see if you need it for cancer, your eyes are helped in a miracle way, helps you sleep, but really, to sit around in a tent or your mom's house at age 18-52 and not work..... lol. Its ridiculous. Thank you. I am glad you are were raised better.

 

So, basically you can replace "stoner" with "alcoholic" and "weed/marijuana" with "alcohol" and "smoke" with "drink" and it all lines up. Some people have a problem controlling their habits or addictions, and others don't. Don't think that just because there's some degenerate stoners who become homeless because they smoke too much that there isn't 10 times as many alcoholics that do the same thing. Everything in moderation.

 

Just go ahead and smoke, it will be recreational nationwide soon. Booze leaves your system in hours, pot take what 30 days? Go for it, or support it I should say. I don't know if you use or not, but hopefully, you just want to mention your topic of booze is bad too. Its apples and oranges to be honest, but I agree with you, booze is another abused substance. I don't want to argue though. If it was good the left would not be pushing it. Take care okay?

 

Booze kills your liver. What does weed do again? And just because it can be tested for in your body does not mean it has any effect on your cognition. And what does left right politics have to do with any of this? Legalization mostly party neutral, at least among those who know anything.

 

Ruins your mind, kills your ambitions, you smell like a skunk, just keep smoking you wil find out. Look at the condition of the people that use weed vs alcohol. Pot smokers do not work or have anything. I will end on. If you smoke pot your life will improve so I will stop with that. You are right. Who cares if you don't have anything but a tent and adult diapers at age 40. Even the illegals coming into the USA have given up on pot. Having a nice micro beer and a Job is much better.... Thats my final word with you. Take care and keep using if you want or supporting pot, its a free country. You take it easy.

 

He has no clue what he is talking about. He just assumes everyone has an addictive personality like his family member. Based on his logic. Everyone in Europe is an alcoholic. Since it's common to have alcohol at every meal.

I think he watched that old movie reefer madness and thought it was true. LOL

 

When I mentioned before that everyone does it up here, I'm not kidding. It blew my mind just how many people I know that did it once they no longer had to hide it. These are people I would never have guessed would be into it. They are all highly successful people to boot.
