Fire destroys trucks at Tennessee travel center

    Monteagle Fire and Rescue
    Authorities continue investigating a fire that destroyed two tractor-trailers and the fuel island at a Tennessee truck stop Monday, July 26.

    What scant details there are show the fire occurred at the Pilot Travel Center off Dixie Avenue in Monteagle, Tennessee, which is about 45 miles northwest of Chattanooga.

    Nol injuries were reported.

    Monteagle Fire and Rescue on scene of a 10-72 Semi Fire located at Pilot Travel Center. Fire is out at this time and containment is taking place. Two Semis were involved and a total loss. Assisting agencies are Pelham Fire Rescue, Tracy City Fire Rescue, Sewanee Fire Department, Marion County Emergency Management, and HEPACO Hazmat Response.
    This is an ongoing scene and will provide additional information at a later time.
