Police in Ontario recently shared video of a six vehicle crash as a reminder of the potentially catastrophic consequences of cutting off a semi truck.

The dash cam video was shared by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division on July 28 and features a multi-vehicle crash that occurred on Highway 401 near Pickering, Canada, on July 27.

In dash cam video captured at the scene, you can see a blue car cutting in front of a semi truck and then hitting the brakes, giving the truck driver little choice but to swerve to avoid a crash. The truck collided with a guardrail and jackknifed.

OPP said that the vehicle involved has been identified and that charges are pending.

“Don’t cut in front of vehicles! This is what can happen when you take away a truck drivers following distance,” OPP warned.

You can view the dash cam video below.

Without dash cam. Blue car moseies down the boulevard and the driver is involved in the carnage.

It’s hard to know for sure how I’d react. But my goal and training is to stay in my lane and in control. I’d hit the blue car before steering away, especially with the slick road. It’s the safest thing to do.

Little blue car would have been smacked. Had two different people pull boneheaded moves last summer. They both got smacked.

So appears to me the truck over braked and that caused him to jack knife as if you really pay attention the truck didn’t lean as if he turned the wheel.

The tweet from OPP indicated that they identified the blue car driver and charges are pending. I say nail him to the wall.
