Yup....5 years in.......I no hit nothin'....Remember to go slow in tight quarters, use your mirrors. As one of my instructors used to repeat over and over.....DRIVE THE TRAILER, not the tractor.

Your telling my storey. But my safety man was a lil bit different. He said slow the he'll down or I'm gonna ride with you and I don't smoke.
Containers are a close sport, not a close contact sport. Slow down and look all around up down side to side. Back up if need be. Weather you stay or move onnits up to you. But of you leave just watch your dac report.

How much do you make a week? Maybe something better in your area. Do you want to stay local or be one of those trashy OTR drivers like me.

I took the front bumper off a Werner truck at a Flying Hook in Indy, and had a wrecker unstick me from a ditch in the first 6 months.

I was honest about both - the company cut me a break, I averaged 2700 miles every week for them 18 months straight, before moving on.

They almost never rehire. 3 years later they did when I needed a non hazmat job for 4 months, due to a license issue.

In my experience, honesty is the better policy. After 16 years I’ve never had a reportable on road accident. 3 company jobs and then my own truck.

You’re a rare bird if you’ve never damaged anything in your time.

    I agree.
I posted it somewhere before. I don’t know how that little town lost it’s cable tv that day. Don’t know nothing about it. Over 10 years ago now.

    Dude.

Have you seen the yard jockeys at the rails?
45-50 mph, hit everything in sight?
    Why tell them?

    They aren’t.
They could care less, be more careful and quit snitching yourself out.
    Deny!!!

That photo isn’t me!! I Swear!

Having worked the railyards in San Bernadino and downtown Los Angeles, don't let the organized chaos of the yard pressure you into mistakes, look in the mirrors if you change lanes at the kiosks. A few things I learned, there is no such thing as a pristine container or Intermodal Trailer, they just don't exist. Unless you ripped the side of one opened, which likely won't happen, just keep moving.
