On the company side, its not a lot more on paper, but its A LOT less BS, and compared to open board OTR, you make it every single week. Not to mention, when you have somewhat of a schedule, you can cut your living on the road expenses to literally $0. I think I might spend $20/wk now vs God Only Knows OTR.
Also most pike jobs get hourly in the yard/customers/docks, without that 2 hours free crap. (at least the jobs I looked into/currently have).
But I do digress, i'm not from Ontario, so it very well could not be worth it out there. However, I would work for the same money, to get away from OTR IMHO.
GTA local hourly rates are garbage

I cross at Sarnia and I'm so pissed off before I get to London I'm wondering why the hell I took the load home. And thats before the garbage rates trying to get out of there.BigHossVolvo and Canadianhauler21 Thank this. -
TransX gave us O/O s a raise. Our turnpike rates 1.48 a mile for Winnipeg to Edmonton. I heard their changing rates in Calgary for pike teams. The beauty of having pike trucks is that their dedicated runs No touch freight. companies like Arnold brothers and Canada Cartage will make you do other B.S

Is it any wonder company's pay the low rates they do when you have guys willing to pull 2 trailers for the pathetic rate of $1.48 cpm. Why would they pay more when they can still find guys to work for those rates.
Phantom Trucker, dunchues and mudflap77 Thank this. -

Is it great, hell no. But it will get existing equipment paid for. Would I buy another truck to do Canada only/LCV? Hard to say, but most likely not. -
My insurance is roughly .11/mi could be lower but I typically only run 80,000 a year this also includes physical damage on my truck and trailer.
Plates .05/mi. Rev avg for the year to the truck for all miles typically around 1.80 pulling 1 trailer.
Believe me you are paying those deductions they just aren't on your settlement.Canadianhauler21, BigHossVolvo and Phantom Trucker Thank this.
