Already have a medical card and not going to take any new ones. lol. I know there's some older threads but these companies are always changing. Does anyone have a list of OTR companies that would let me use my own medical card? Yea i know, people are gonna say company will pay for new one etc, but i'm sticking with what i got. The DOT don't care, as long as its valid and from a doctor on the national registry.

Let me check my Rolodex! Yes, I just made a snarky reply! Some carriers will let you slide with a current physical and some will not! The reason is some carriers have different requirements. I suggest you not take that attitude of what you will not do into the hiring process. The FMCSA/DOT may not care, but the carriers AND their insurance carriers DO! One more point, you are blowing off that the carrier will pay for it as if it means nothing. The only thing a new physical will cost you is maybe an hour out of the orientation process. While I am not going to accuse you of anything, the only other reason I can see for reluctance to undergo a physical is fear of what may be discovered!

Best to just call any company your're interested in and ask. Phone call is free.
I have some on my list, but my list is old, so may not be correct for today.

It will also depend on how long you have left on your current card. If it's less than a year I would just go get a new one. That's what I did before I started applying.

When I went to the Swift Academy, I already had my permit and medical. They accepted it, but did review it. I had had a sleep test a few years ago, and they had me get the paperwork diagnosis to review. I don't have apnea. In the end, I didn't have to take another medical exam. Since then I get my medicals from the Swift clinics simply so I don't have to pay for them. And, due to medication I take, I have to get a physical annually. Little chance I'll stop taking that medicine, so I just accept I get annual physicals instead of bi-annual ones like most 'normal' folk. But, I'm not normal, don't know what normal is, was never a goal to be normal and would make myself miserable trying to be something I could never accomplish!
