Not sure where to put them. Some highways are darn near capacity. Comes a point when more trucks just won’t fit :biggrin_25512:

Low pay is better than no pay.

I’ve been in the job market recently and the better paying gigs have no shortage. Indeed let’s you know how many other applicants are applying for same job. Many jobs I’ve applied for have 40 plus applications. I think only the bottom feeders are experiencing a shortage.

The, "driver shortage" is a myth perpetuated by the ATA and other industry bottom feeders to justify any alternative (letting 18 year olds driver interstate, importing drivers from other countries for $125/wk, CDL classes in high schools, autonomous trucks, etc.) that lets them run trucks without having to pay drivers a fair wage.

If you're coming from a country where you lived in a tin-roof shack with no indoor plumbing, living in a truck making 0.30/mile will seem like paradise. If you're an American competing with these same low-wage drivers, too bad. The almighty dollar is more important. You just have to lower your standard of living.

That’s what the companies and brokers say up here . Why use a fair priced company or driver when you have people doing it for 50% less. Besides insurance buys them a extra few dozen loads a year when they trash load by rolling.

As long as a certain quaint little reefer company from SLC continues to make their training trucks into clown cars and we continue to see drivers with their legs out the window whilst driving, then I don't see a driver shortage.

What I do see is a pay shortage and lack of good treatment of drivers.
