Utah transportation officials say that drivers should seek alternate routes until the evening rush hour following a truck crash that left the cab dangling from an overpass.

The crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. on the ramp from I-215 North to I-80 West in Salt Lake City, Utah.

In images captured at the scene, you can see the cab of the truck hanging over the side of the ramp while the trailer remains on the ramp.

Firefighters say that there were no injuries and that the driver self-extricated.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area, including I-80 East to I-215 South as traffic is experiencing “severe backups.”

Crews are working to repair the damaged barrier. The road is expected to reopen around 4 p.m.

How the hell does that happen? Amazing that the driver was somehow able to get out.

Wonder what happened there. If a car hit him, he blew a tire or pulled a swifty swift

Looks like everything is wet from rain, wonder if he hydroplaned??

I know from experience that ramp can be sketchy if its slick or wet... It's one ramp I always slow way down for... Its got kinda a funny angle to it.

Roads down there are always slick the first time it rains after a dry spell because of the oil on the road. My guess is he was just driving normal and wasn’t prepared for the slick conditions when he started the loop up and over to head west.

Coming in HOT on a wet road. That right steer tire crawled up the barrier. Game over.

We had one just like that here in PHX the other day. Believe it was a white day-can as well. No injuries.
