So your reason for blowing the scale is, “because we never stop at scales.” Somehow I don’t think that will hold up in court.

This gets better every day, I bet the staff has a blast,,okay, 1st, I don't mean to be rude, but go back to waste management. You picked the absolute worst aspect in trucking, dump trucks. I hope your "dumb" was Freudian Slip, because, I'd say 1/3 of my career was a dump truck, and I liked it, however, A), it is not for the faint of heart, and B), if you want to do it by the book, you're in the wrong area. Dump trucks, by nature, are THE #1 vehicle "weight watchers" look for. 2 types of trucks you'll rarely see at a state scale, are grain haulers and dump trucks. It's almost impossible to scale out a dump truck, and with multiple loads per hour sometimes,, you can't "babysit" each load ( getting legal) and if paid %, which most dump truck jobs are, you won't make a dime. When I hauled rocks, we had a bunch of good friends, CB radios, and we looked out for each other. If there was a DOT in the area, we all knew about it. Takes a certain driver, and with 4 violations, might want to look for something else. The tickets are your baby, you take that responsibility when you took the job. Too bad they skipped that part in the interview, ( intentionally) Look at it this way, you just helped buy another police cruiser, or a years worth of donuts for our fine LEOs,,good luck, pal.

I have. I’ve heard of dumb truck drivers. They’re plentiful around my parts.

OP, you’re right to be upset. The officer was obligated to give you a free set of steak knives after 3 tickets. You got 4! I would go back to that weigh station and demand my steak knives. You have rights, you know!

Over weight tickets don’t matter, just pay the state the money and keep on going, overweight is the only way to make money working by the ton, go around next time

you need to stop at weigh stations in any commercially registered vehicle over 10k….
